Satpura

The Satpura Range is a major chain of hills in central India that stretches approximately 900 kilometres from east to west. Derived from Sanskrit, the name “Satpura” translates to “Seven Folds” or “Seven Mountains”, representing its structure of seven distinct sub-ranges. Running parallel to the Vindhya Range to its north, these two mountain systems form a primary geographical barrier that divides the Indian subcontinent into the northern Indo-Gangetic Plain and the southern Deccan Plateau
